This Privacy Policy explains how Trowel Academy ("Trowel Academy," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you visit trowelacademy.com or register to receive program information and enrollment offers from us and our marketing partners.
01 Information we collect
When you submit our registration form, we collect the personal information you provide directly, which includes:
- Identifiers and contact details: first name, last name, email address, and phone number.
- Postal address: street address, city, state, and ZIP code.
- Consent records: the fact that you checked the consent box, plus the date, time, IP address, and page where you gave consent.
We also automatically collect limited technical data when you use our site, such as your IP address, browser type, device information, and pages viewed, through cookies and similar technologies. We do not knowingly collect Social Security numbers, financial-account numbers, or other sensitive identifiers through the registration form.
02 How we use your information
We use the information you provide to:
- Send you the program information and enrollment offers you registered to receive — by email, phone call, and text message — from Trowel Academy and our marketing partners;
- Verify your email address through a double opt-in confirmation link before any marketing is sent;
- Respond to your inquiries and provide admissions and program support;
- Maintain records of the consent you provided (see Section 4);
- Detect and prevent fraud, secure our systems, and comply with our legal obligations.
04 Consent & TCPA records
By checking the consent box, you provide your prior express written consent under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) for Trowel Academy and its marketing partners to contact you at the phone number you provided — including marketing calls and text messages sent using automated technology and/or prerecorded or artificial voice messages. Consent is not a condition of any purchase or enrollment. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies. You may reply STOP to any text message to opt out.
We retain records of your TCPA consent — including the consent language shown to you, the date and time, and the IP address — for a period of five (5) years after the consent is given or after your last interaction with us, in order to demonstrate that valid consent was obtained.
05 Data retention
We keep your personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy. As noted above, TCPA consent records are retained for five (5) years. Other contact information is retained while your registration is active and for a reasonable period afterward to support our operations and legal obligations, after which it is deleted or de-identified. You may request deletion at any time, subject to the rights described in Section 6.
06 Your privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), gives you the following rights:
- Right to know what personal information we have collected, used, disclosed, and shared about you;
- Right to delete the personal information we hold about you, subject to legal exceptions;
- Right to correct inaccurate personal information;
- Right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information, including sharing with marketing partners for cross-context behavioral advertising;
- Right to limit the use of sensitive personal information; and
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@trowelacademy.com with the subject line "Privacy Request," or call us at (555) 248-7665. We will verify your request and respond within the timeframes required by law. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information: California residents may opt out of the sharing of their personal information with marketing partners by emailing privacy@trowelacademy.com with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share." We also honor recognized opt-out preference signals (such as Global Privacy Control) where required.
07 How to opt out of marketing
- Email: click the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of any marketing email.
- Text messages: reply STOP to any text to stop further messages; reply HELP for help.
- Calls: tell the caller you wish to be placed on our do-not-call list, or email us.
- All channels: email privacy@trowelacademy.com and we will remove you.
Opting out of marketing will not affect your ability to contact us directly about admissions.
08 Children & under-18 exclusion
Our registration form and marketing communications are intended only for individuals who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 through this form, and individuals under 18 should not submit it. If we learn that we have collected personal information from someone under 18, we will delete that information promptly. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@trowelacademy.com.
09 Data security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10 Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated through the website or by email where appropriate.
